Infinity Logistics and Transport Sdn Bhd has stepped up from an asset light logistics company into an asset based company. Established in 2003, Infinity offers innovative and cost effective logistics solutions for various industries. Starting the company with a mere 4 employees, we now have over 600 employees across Asia with strong presence in Malaysia (Klang, Penang, Johor Bahru & Padang Besar), Thailand (Bangkok, & Hatyai), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh), Indonesia (Jakarta, Surabaya & Medan), Singapore and China (Qingdao). We have also spread our wings to Myanmar with a representative office in Yangon as well as another representative office in United Kingdom, slowly growing our presence in Europe. Currently, we own 14 offices in 7 countries.
We have taken a big leap in growing us into who we are today. Starting off as a micro company, we initially focused more on freight forwarding services. As we became an SME, our services expanded into warehousing followed by substantial investment in infrastructure and equipment. Now, as a matured SME organization, we provide integrated logistics services to our customers and we are preparing to shift into the next level as a corporate organization.
From the beginning, we rode on the Blue Ocean strategy where we create new demand in an uncontested market place. We managed to unlock some great value chains and add value to many of our stakeholders’ businesses. From there we ventured further into untapped markets and at the same time distanced ourselves from the red ocean business. We never compete head-to-head with others in the same industry. We never get ourselves entangled in the same old challenges that common logistics providers face. Additionally, we ensure that great value propositions are offered to our customers in each and every business dealings that we sign upon.
Riding on the Blue Ocean Strategy has inspired us to be innovative and different. One creative innovation we introduced was the 9ft 6 inches High Cube (HC) 20 footer container. It is 12% bigger than using a normal 20 footer and with this innovation Infinity is recognized as the largest 20 HC operator in South East Asia. Infinity’s Freight Village is another major innovation under our Conventional Cargo Logistics. The Freight Village is an integrated logistics centre capable of handling multimodal transport, offering both bonded & non-bonded warehousing and open space storage with overhead cranes. We have a huge concrete open space for Container Freight Station (CFS) activities.
As we constantly strive to serve our customers with best possible solutions, we have created our own business matrix which envelops three factors containing value added services, vertical logistics as well as niche logistics.
Our flexibility in integrating numerous services to serve our customers is a simple gesture that provides a great sense of value of our services. Through our vertical logistics, we specifically cater to the needs of customers for various sectors by understanding the requirements of their businesses’ needs in depth in order to offer tailor-made solutions. Similarly, engaging in niche logistics provides us the ability to support customers who require specialized skills or specific certifications for their cargoes. This involves not just knowing the customers’ product but to fulfill additional requirements.
In supporting the cargo transshipment business, Infinity is in the process of setting up a state-of-the-art facility of 1 million sqft of warehouse space within the vicinity of the Port. This is to support cargo transshipment services, accommodate storage of non-bonded cargo within the Port and to encourage trading in the Port. The warehouse, equipped with modern facilities will be competent in providing downstream activities such as product packaging & distribution and cater to the needs of International Procurement Centre (IPC) and Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) players to set-up their facilities here in Malaysia. Besides, it will also serve as a commodity logistics centre and involve value added activities such as labelling, re-labelling, packing, re-packing and order picking as well as a multi country distribution with the ability to handle chemical logistics.
To serve our cargo transshipment business better, we aim to become a logistics provider with ‘carrier’ status to develop our multimodal business unit with our own rolling stocks. As part of this efforts, Infinity has taken a bold move in investing in locomotives. This also serves as a catalyst to our other services such as freight forwarding and custom brokerage in spearing our organic growth.
Functioning is an era that runs on technology, we are well equipped with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) which has tremendously enhanced collaboration and networking among employees, customers and partners by removing the barriers to real-time communication and effective sharing.
Taking care of the wellbeing of the society and environment that we operate in is equally important as our business and we constantly take initiatives to assess and take responsibility of the organization’s effects on environmental and social wellbeing. That is why our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts were created revolving around the 4 main pillars namely marketplace, workplace, community and environment. Therefore, for Infinity, our CSR approaches exist as a value creation.
Infinity, redefining logistics solutions.
